Learning by playing

As an old school role player (grabuge) I am always curious to read about professional role playing situation. Most of the time I am a bit worried regarding the lack of role part in those games descriptions.

Last friday I experienced the XP game as a training material. A single team made of five members had emulate three iterations to feel the benefits of agile planning, velocity computing and overall the incremental approach.

The party last 3 hours and it was really funy to see them improving their processes while cooperating to fold hats or inflate balloons. But the more interesting part of the game is the role swapping in between Customers and Developers responsabilities and the perception the get on how to influence iteration planning from each position.

I will reuse this material the next time I will have to spread agility.
